Disheartening

The level of political pettiness on the Anchorage Assembly is disheartening.

Take, for instance, Downtown Assemblyman Chris Constant’s quick move Friday to have the Assembly finally remove Anchorage’s controversial and burdensome mask mandate.

Why did he do it? Why, to head off Eagle River Assemblywoman Jamie Allard’s amendment, already on the table, to do just that. Allard battled the mask mandate for months, often alone, and Constant, working for months on the Forrest Dunbar for Mayor campaign, made the move to ensure she could not take credit for the mandate’s demise, MustReadAlaska.com reports.

Constant was caught on a hot mic saying, “I just didn’t want to give Jamie the power,” the website reports.

He did not offer the motion because it was the right thing. Or because the public was lining up to pressure the Assembly. Or even that the Centers for Disease Control was abandoning mask mandates. Nope. He offered it to deny Allard any credit.

We get the government we deserve.

Disheartening, indeed.

Vilify is a bit strong. It implies slander and abuse. You Trump supporters did what you did: Attempted a coup on the state capital for the first time in 200 years, and tried to undermine democracy by rejecting the results of a free and fair election. A reasonable person who supported Trump during that time period would be a traitor. That person would know what they were doing is both seditious and against their forefathers laid out plans. An “Idiot”, or a “Moron”, could at least say they just didn’t have the mental acuity to check their morality; think of those terms as a get out of jail free card. You get to say you have a mind geared more for checkers AND avoid the traitorous fait you so much deserve.

Never one to leave his audience doubting his lack of critical thinking skill, DD again rears his adjective laden head.

“Loud mouthed” and “idiot” and “moron” are terms he uses to vilify Trump supporters. Then he makes the audacious claim “If you aren’t an epidemiologist, you aren’t qualified to have an opinion on the precautions during a pandemic.”

Okay DD, I’ll see you and raise you one. If you’re not a mathematician, you aren’t qualified to have an opinion on whether vote fraud occurred in the battleground states, which has we “idiot, moronic, loud mouthed” Trump supporters so upset.

Got that? You’re not qualified to have an opinion.

There is only a limited amount of maturity among the Liberal leaning on the assembly and from my observation most of that is held by Weddleton. It really is like watching a group of middle schoolers.

What’s even more disheartening is how close the mayoral election was. This should be a clear wake up call to where being complacent gets you these days!

Jamie Allard, woman who defended “3REICH” on a license plate to support Nazi’s, deleted her own Facebook page and then blamed “The Left” for doing it, has been trying to remove the mandate since it began. This isn’t a woman with a higher level of critical thinking, or even someone deserving to be in the assembly parking lot. Just another loud mouth Trump minion that doesn’t have an original thought to speak of, and who will try to politicize everything so her idiot base will vote for her. If you aren’t an epidemiologist, you aren’t qualified to have an opinion on the precautions during a pandemic. CDC just said that the vaccinated could start removing masks in certain situations. The assembly is doing just that. And when the Anti-Vaxers, lead by idiots like Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones, start getting sick at alarming rates, cause the virus to mutate again and put us right back where we started, morons like Jamie Allard will be to blame because they can’t listen to simple directions from the subject matter experts. We deserve far better than Jamie Allard; and Constant if that makes you feel better.
