Another fib

Anti-gun factions are champing at the bit to destroy the American firearms industry. To that end, they like to pretend the industry is immune to lawsuits; that it is able to do as it will while Americans have no recourse in court.

“This is the only outfit that is exempt from being sued,” President Joe Biden said at a ceremony announcing the beginning of his war on the Second Amendment. “If I get one thing on my list — (if) the Lord came down and said, ‘Joe, you get one of these’ — give me that one.

“Most people don’t realize, the only industry in America, billion-dollar industry, that can’t be sued, exempt from being sued, are gun manufacturers.”

That, of course, is wildly untrue and the stuff of dreams for anti-gun forces that hope a tornado of lawsuits could wipe out the industry altogether.

The 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act says gun manufacturers cannot be held liable for the use of their products in a crime. That seems fair to us. They can, however, be sued for a wide range of things, including negligence, marketing practices, breach of contract regarding the purchase of a gun or certain damages from design defects, CNN reports.

Other industries also have certain exemptions from liability. Vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturers and airlines, for instance, have special immunity from some types of lawsuits, and the gun industry does not have complete impunity.

Biden and others would change all that with the intent of destroying the industry.

We are left to wonder: Is there anything these folks will not claim, will not do, to disarm Americans?

Drumpf, Is that like allowing Americas worst crime wave in it’s history, the Gang Bang Rap Black gang culture to flourish and the mega death and destruction it has caused in the inner city to blacks and black children, and then blame the police?

Car manufacturers are not held responsible when someone is run over by a car.

Gun laws only affect those law abiding citizens that are not the problem.

Criminals by their very nature ignore laws. Case in point: drug laws.

There are plenty(too many) gun laws on the books that aren’t enforced. Quit allowing felons in posession of firearms to plead down to misdemeanors. Give them the mandatory 5 to 10 years; no time off……..

You dump lead into the water supply, you are held accountable. You generate hazardous waste on your property, you are liable for life. You champion anti-gun control legislation through a tax exempt non-profit organization, you get the boot. Calling for a better upbringing, or more receptive parents, or blah blah blah isn’t getting anything done and innocent people are still dying. Hold these manufacturers responsible for what they DID do, and that was meddle in politics. And as the wise turtle Moscow Mitch said himself, corporations should stay out of politics, unless it’s to give them money. At some point, somehow, some way, you have to start realizing that the GOP’s “traditional values” are nothing more than a stagnation of progress, a wart, a blemish on practical and responsible living.

DD, how frustrating it must be for you to accept that our Founding Fathers, looking down across the millennia, foresaw people exactly like you who would gleefully sacrifice “traditional values” on the altar of “progress”. This is exactly why the Constitution was written exactly as it was, to prevent people that view it as a wart, a stagnation, from bending it to their own purposes.

Sorry chum, the freedom/requirement to be a better citizen, to own firearms, to speak your mind, to peaceably assemble, these are all engraved in stone. So they can’t be easily rubbed away by people in search of “practical and responsible living” who agitate for trillions of dollars in pork spending, to benefit their preferred half of the population. “Responsible” indeed.

And speaking of God, Mr. Xiden, where would you be if God smote liars when their lies were yet on their lips?
