‘Illegal’ is not a race

We are not huge fans of bumper sticker – or Internet meme – condensations of complicated public policy and cultural questions as they tend to oversimplify the complexities of the issues. But now and again one comes along that resonates.

One such meme making the rounds these days on the Internet has a photo of an agitated President Donald Trump framed by:

“You say I’m racist because I don’t want illegals here; I have some news for you, “illegal” isn’t a race, morons.”

It is not only funny. It is undeniably true.

How many times has the left trotted out the “r” word to slap down and stifle opposition or argument and the “you are a racist because you oppose illegal immigration” is one of their old standbys. But it is not restricted only to immigration; it is used to demean anybody who disagrees with the left on just about anything.

Perhaps the best way to deflate those the left is something we so often overlook: Just laugh at them.

Oversimplify is a nonsense word, which conveys a negative impression. Splat is the one word oversimplification of slapping a mosquito or a person falling off a cliff.

Click to see what illegals cost taxpayers in each state:

No wonder California is broke. Taxpayers there spend $21.8 BILLION on illegals.
