More than expected

President Donald Trump’s economic policies seem to be working, despite howling from the Left.

The United States added a more-than-anticipated 213,000 jobs in June., the government reported. That is the good news. The less-good is that wage growth remains light. Unemployment edged up to 4 percent because more than 600,000 people returned to the work force.

All indicators are that the job market is strong and continuing to get stronger as the economy surges.

Now, if we could just find a way for Alaska to join the party. Unemployment in the state is hovering at about 7 percent as a recession, largely caused by shaky oil prices, hangs on.

Rising oil prices may work to change that. We will have to wait and see.
